Water pollution and marine life agents
Water pollution on marine life can be caused by different biological agents: microorganisms and fermentable organic material. This type of water pollution on marine life leads to a strong bacterial pollution of the water, which has as a consequence the death of marine life through disease, but also the spread of certain illnesses to humans through the imminent consumption of the respective marine life.
For example, water pollution from a paper factory is equivalent to the pollution of the water and marine life by a town with a population of 500,000.
Also very dangerous is the pollution of the water and marine life by the animal farms, which is characterized by a great concentration of animals in a very tight space.
Water pollution on marine life can also be caused by chemical pollution of various compounds (like mercury and other heavy metals). Also, water and marine life pollution with nitrates and phosphates has been dangerous increasing in recent years, especially in industrially developed countries. This is due to the use of fertilizers based on phosphates which reach and pollute the water reserves. The consumption of water and marine life polluted with a great concentration of nitrates, can lead to several diseases especially in children. Amongst the main causes of water pollution and death on marine life is the dumping of hydrocarbons, present in all the rivers of the world, as an effect of modern civilization.
